MARÍA JESÚS CASTRO PÉREZ

Meet Maria Jesus

My name is María Jesús Castro Pérez. I will turn 18 on January 18, 2026, and I live in a small town called Tambor in Puntarenas. I come from a fairly large family, consisting of my parents and six siblings, which has influenced my personality, teaching me values such as responsibility, teamwork, and hard work.

I am an active and committed person who has never envisioned myself in a profession based solely on office work. I have always sought a career that involves action, allowing me to be on the move and perform practical tasks.

For this reason, I would like to study Occupational Health and Safety at the National Technical University (UTN). This program offers the balance I have always sought, as it combines fieldwork with risk prevention and the care of people's well-being and the environment. Although it obviously includes administrative tasks, the vast majority of the work is not based on staying in an office, but rather on direct action and improving working conditions.

My greatest goal is to contribute to the creation of safer, healthier, and more environmentally responsible workplaces, especially in communities like mine.
